What are the causes of heart arrhythmias?
An arrhythmia (also referred to as Dysrhythmia) is a disease which refers to abnormal rhythm of the heart, and as a result can cause the heart to pump less effectively. This can be caused because of problems in the functioning of the heart chambers: a. Not allowing the ventricles to fill with adequate amount of blood because the electrical signal is causing the heart to pump too fast. b. Restricts sufficient blood to get pumped out to the body because the electric signal causes the heart to pump too slowly or too irregularly. There are other types as well: Sinus arrhythmia, Sinus tachycardia, Sick sinus syndrome, Premature Supraventricular contractions, Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), paroxysmal atrial tachycardia (PAT), etc. Lifestyle modification, medication, cardio version, ablation, etc. form a part of Heart Arrhythmia Treatment.
