What are the causes of family violence and what can be done to stop it from happening?
Sadly, I don’t have any sources. But I am a foster child who comes from an abusive family, so I know about family violence. I think that the number one cause of family violence is resentment/revenge or past abuse. If a person was abused by thier parents, then they will most likely become abusive towards their future family as well. Another cause is addictions, such as being an alcoholic or a drug addict. Obviously, when most people are under the influence of these things, they aren’t aware of how they are acting towards their surroundings, and they may direct violence towards their loved ones. Not to mention that some people go to the extreme of doing whatever they possibly can to get their hands on money to be able to afford keeping their addiction, and this may involve them serverly hurting their significant others.
