What are the causes of dyspareunia in men?
Causes in men may include: • Infection of the genitals or internally eg prostate etc. • Foreskin problems Many men suffer with a tight foreskin which becomes painful or can tear during sex. As a result, many men require circumcision to deal with the issue. • Peyronies disease (A condition where the penis can bend to one side). A lot of men will notice that their penis may bend to one side more than the other but in severe cases the penis the bend may be very noticeable, leading to pain and making sexual intercourse difficult. • Unknown causes: In some cases of dyspareunia, no observable medical cause can be found. • Psychological causes: In a number of cases, the cause of the dyspareunia is felt to be of a psychological origin.
