What are the Causes of Boils?
Boils are skin infections that starts in a hair follicle or oil gland. It will turn red at first in the area of infection and a tender lump will then develop. The lump will start to turn white after four to seven days as the pus collects under the skin. The infection will spread deeper into the tissues where it becomes an abscess. The most common places that a boil will appear are on the face, neck, armpits, shoulders, and buttocks. When it appears on an eyelid it is called a sty. If there are several boils that forms a group it is called a carbuncle. These are the causes of boil: 1. Bacterial called staphylococcus is a germ that can be present on normal skin and enters the body through tiny cuts in the skin or by traveling down a hair follicle. 2.
