What are the causes of a harsh tracheal cough?
As of 3 days ago, I decided to quit smoking. I went from close to a pack a day down to about 4 cigarettes a day. By the night of my first day, a slight cough began to occur, which centered around my tracheal area, where the clavicles meet. Today is the 3rd day, and the cough has become much more harsh (slightly painful) and very frequent. I have been a bit drowsy lately, but this could be unrelated. I am coughing up some phlegm, but it is very light yellow/green, which leads me to believe that it is not smoking related. I don’t have the resources to go to a doctor at the moment, so any information regarding causes and treatments would be great! I’m a 21 year old male, in good healthy shape, and I have minor asthma, but this doesn’t feel like asthma at all. Thanks.
