What are the causes high fuel consumption in injector engines motor vehicles particularly toyota?
If were talking excessively high,ie well below manufacturers specs. And you have the engine serviced to acceptable standards, new plugs, filters, etc. And the dash engine malfunction warning light is not on.Then you have to have the engine live feed read. All of the various engine sensors have a tolerance range,Usually if a sensor fails it fails enough that the ECU will flag the warning light, but if the sensor is within range but not adequately accurate the fuel consumption/power will be down.EG if the coolant sensor reads ten degrees lower than actual temperature, the ECU will think the cars colder than it actually is,and hold the ‘choke’ on for longer.Live reading compares all sensor data with accepted norms, and will show up out of spec readings.Other causes could be,partially siezed brakes or blocked exhaust or injector/s leaking.the last two would show up as gas emissions failure at test.
