What are the causes and effects of landslides?
There can be many causes of landslides, including earthqukes and tremors, erosion by wind and/or water, poor land management, and weakening of landforms by mining and other man-made ventures. Basically, a landslide occurs when a certain portion of soil and rock mass is no longer bound to its former location, and follows the forces of gravity to its conclusion, ie, goes downhill to the bottom!. The effects can be loss of life and property, as well as a serious change in the terrain.
