What are the Catholic rules for fasting during Lent?

0

In my family, on Ash Wednesday we do not snack between meals. Two small meals and then a regular meal for dinner (meat-less dinner that is) same goes for Good Friday. Then every Friday until Easter you have meat-less Fridays. There are rules that pertain to the young and the old.. I believe it starts at the age of 18-60. But we all follow the fasting rule during Lent, from the young to the old.
