25% Group This includes hotels, motels, restaurants, campgrounds, service stations and motor vehicle dealerships. Business Occupancy assessments and taxes are scheduled to be eliminated for this group in 2006. 75% Group This includes financial institutions such as banks, trust companies, insurance companies, credit unions, loan or investment companies. The business occupancy assessments and taxes for these types of businesses are scheduled to be eliminated in 2013. 50% Group Businesses which do no fall into the above categories are in the 50% group. This can include retail outlets, professional offices and services, manufacturing, home-based businesses, and spaces that are licensed under the Liquor Control Act as a cabaret, tavern, beverage room or lounge. The business occupancy assessment for properties in this category is scheduled to be phased out over the next four years, and reduced by 10% each year until eliminated in 2010.
