What are the carry-on baggage dimensions and how many pieces of carry-on are allowed?
If a passenger presents a number of items of carry-on baggage that exceeds the acceptable limit described in the regulations, CATSA’s procedure is to inform the passenger that he/she has too many items of carry-on baggage. Direct him/her to bring the excess item(s) to the air carrier check-in counter where they will make the final decision as to whether or not to accept all items as carry-on. If a passenger presents carry-on baggage for screening at a pre-board screening checkpoint and screening officers suspect that it is too large to be accepted as carry-on baggage by the air carrier, CATSA’s procedure is to inform the passenger that the item in question is too large to be accepted by the air carrier as carry-on baggage. They should then direct the passenger to bring the item in question to the air carrier check-in counter.
