What are the “Caps” on inpatient internal medicine services?

0

Caps: The Resident can admit up to 10 patients to the General Medicine service per call day. The intern can admit up to 5 patients per call day. If a patient is admitted and is a bounce to another team, then that will count against the individual resident cap for the day. This does not count against the team cap of 10 patients per day unless it occurs on Friday or Saturday. Therefore, if there is a night float resident on that day, then the team cap does not include bounces to other teams.
