What are the capabilities of the CLICK PLC?
We wanted to strengthen our low-end PLC offering. The ideal customer for CLICK is a 1st time PLC customer or a new customer to ADC. Small SIs & OEMs who have not considered PLCs for their projects and/or applications may find this very attractive. The learning curve for this product is very minimal. Simple to learn, easy to use If the volume is great enough, the extremely aggressive price of CLICK & the free programming software may also encourage other existing PLC users to consider switching. However, we never intended on this to be the PLC for everyone. We feel the 80/20 rule still applies; 20% of the instructions to satisfy 80% of the applications. This, along with the maximum 142 I/O (maximum of 8 modules), will limit the application space which CLICK can be sold into. We realize that the initial launch of the CLICK PLC is limited to discrete control only, no ethernet communications capability, and RS-232 communications only (Modbus and ASCII) This has been updated to RS-232 & RS-
