What are the cancer-causing toxins and ingredients in tobacco smoke?
There are 44 different poisonous chemicals and ingredients in tobacco. To name just a few cancer-giving toxins and constituents there is: arsenic, benzene that can be found in gas, benzoa, cadmium that can be found in batteries, pyrene, toluene and many chemicals found in household products. Each day there are 20 kids on average smoking their first cigarette in B.C. That would mean there are 100 new British Columbian smokers in only 5 days (give or take a few people). Because these shocking numbers are coming up B.C. has developed “The Three Step Strategy System.” This system focuses on stopping kids from starting in the first place, holding the tobacco industries and cigarette companies accountable for all the lives their products have taken because of tobacco and last but not least modify the behaviour of the tobacco manufacturers. The B.C. coffin industry has 5600 extra coffins to make each year unfortunately, because of the number of British Columbians that die smoking cigarettes.
