What are the bodies of the IPC Union?
The principal bodies of the IPC Union are the Assembly and the Committee of Experts. The Committee of Experts has established two subsidiary bodies, the IPC Revision Working Group (WG) and the A dvanced Level Subcommittee (ALS). The Revision Working Group is in charge of the revision of the core level of the IPC and meets regularly twice a year in Geneva. Participation is open to all members of the IPC Union and the intergovernmental organizations mentioned in Article 5 of the Strasbourg Agreement. The Advanced Level Subcommittee is in charge of the revision and further development of the advanced level of the IPC. In order to allow for an accelerated revision of the advanced level the Special Subcommittee presently comprises only four members: the European Patent Office, Japan, the United States of America and the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The administration of the IPC revision is carried out by the International Bureau of WIPO.
