What are the biggest challenges the underwater world is facing at the moment?
Many people would suggest global warming as the major concern, but it is also possible that we are still in the ice age as the last ice advance was only a mere 10,000 years ago! So for me it is the effects of pollution and over fishing, we need to look at sustainable resources, we need to educate and inform people about fishing methods that can harm other wildlife, we need to help people understand that we are likely to lose some of our major ocean species such as sharks if we remain keen on hunting them just for their fins. What do you hope will the impact of the TES cleanup dive be? Well the successes so far has been in the area of bringing the 3 sections within TES together. TES is a unique school within the International system, 3 schools within one school so to speak and the social aspect of having teachers and students from all sections involved socially is important.
