What are the biggest challenges in delivering food in Pakistan?
How is WFP overcoming them? The security situation across Pakistan remains a major challenge for WFP to effectively deliver much-needed food assistance. However, WFP programs have been established in some areas. WFP works closely with national non-governmental organizations that have access to some of the areas where WFP staff can’t go. In order to ensure effective monitoring, WFP employs local staffers from within the conflict zone. 7. Describe a personal experience that really touched you. Having worked with the Pakistani government’s tourism department for almost a decade, working at WFP is altogether different. The unit I head now, public information, gives me enough space to visit projects and interact with the people who receive WFP food. I never knew before joining WFP that there were so many poverty and hunger issues in my own country. I feel proud to be part of WFP and having the opportunity to help poor and underprivileged sectors of society.
