What are the bible verses preachers read at weddings?
There are many beautiful passages that can be incorporated into your ceremony. Among the favorites is I Corinthians 13, commonly known as the love chapter. Sometimes chapter 13 is read in full during the ceremony. Other couples choose only verses 4-8, while some also tack verse 13 on to the end of these five verses. Another popular choice of wedding Bible verses is Genesis 2:20-24. This is where God made Eve for Adam so he would have companionship in The Garden. In Ephesians 5:22-33, Paul compares Christ’s love for the church with the love a groom should have for his bride. Paul talks directly to the bride and groom in Colossians 3:18-19. Solomon sums up the beauty of marriage in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. Jesus talks about marriage and Adam and Eve and their relationship in Matthew 19:4-6. Here, he quotes Scripture as above from Genesis 1.
