My Jeep has the L6 or “inline 6” cylinder motor. It pulls ok but I want it to have more horsepower. I have already installed a K & N filter and that helped a little. A: The inline 6 is a good motor, but to really get some power out of it, it will take some money. It will never be a high horse-power machine, but it is a reliable motor that will run nearly forever if you take care of it. Since you improved the intake, the next step would be to imrpove exhuast flow. If you take in more air, you need to exhaust more air. As for pieces and parts that will really make a difference, Hesco makes a very nice aluminum high flow cylinder head for the 4.0, but I don’t think you want to tear into a brand new motor. Golen is the big name in Stroker motors for the inline 6, but many choose to build their own 4.6 liter strokers using 4.2 cranks and some other junk yard pieces. But again thats tearing into the motor. I believe Avenger has also released a SuperCharger for the 4.0 as well. Unfortunately
