What are the best things to do / see in amsterdam?
The best things for you are the things that fit best with you. Most people like a canal boat tour, by tour boat if you are ‘average’ or by canal bike if you are young and active. Or you can join one of the many tours by bike. Amsterdam is one of the cities with most museums per square km, with a very wide selection in museums, from art and history to handbags and glasses, weed and torture, so have a look in the museum list on this site before you say you do not like museums: http://www.amsterdam.info/museums/ Other things to do, just walk around and enjoy the city, use your eyes, whether you enjoy the buildings or the women in the windows of the red light district.
