What are the best things to do in South Korea?
Drink. Seriously, you’ve got access to a wider variety of liquor there (shop around) than just about anywhere. Especially if you have access to the US bases there. Also, go to the Korean War museum near Yongsan Garrison. One of my favorite things to do there was ride my bicycle through the countryside. Once you get a few miles from town just about anywhere, it’s quite picturesque. Be warned, you pretty much can’t get a decent inner tube in Korea. Shops selling 3000 dollar bikes will only stock shitty tubes (like 4 bucks) that I swear are made out of pencil erasers. Expect flat tires. In August, if you go through farming towns, you’ll see peppers laid out to dry on every square foot of space they can get away with. I think it’s quite a sight. The Seoul Land (shitty name) zoo is pretty good. The COEX mall is pretty impressive. As are the two main markets in Seoul, Namdaemun and Dongdaemun.
