What are the best tank of WWII ( World War 2 )….at the end of the war?
1. The Canadian forces used mostly US Shermans and British Churchills, They produced only one tank I know of which saw any combat at all, the Ram which was basically a Sherman clone. It was used for training and saw combat only as an observation vehicle, gun tow, flame thrower and similar ancillary uses. Since it was the only Canadian tank, the only answer is the Ram. 2. The word “panzer” means armored in German. What the other answerers may mean when they nominate the “panzer” as the best german tank of the war is the “panzerkamphwagen”(means armored fighting vehicle) Pkw V or Panther tank which was well designed with a superior gun and good sloped armor, low ground pressure and great speed for a main battle tank. Its weakness was particularly the transmission which was not strong enough as designed for the vehicle weight. This problem was not really corrected until very close to the end of the war.
