What are the best spikes for middle distance running?
If you are in your first or second year in high school you may want to consider a road racing flat which is a shoe with no spikes but is just as light as track spike shoes. Road racing flats have a much thinner sole than training shoes. But if you are really excited about having spikes and experiencing that “separation” from cross-country racing then there is a middle/distance track spike that has the same sole as the racing flat but the forefoot has spikes just like the sprinters. As in the other answer comment – just ask for them at the store. GOOD LUCK!
