What are the best shoes to wear to a Zumba® class?
Zumba® recommends tennis, aerobic, or training shoes as they provide medial (side-to-side) support and tend to have smoother bottoms which are ideal for swivel and turning motions. Running shoes are not recommended becuase of the heavy tread on the bottom of the shoes and because many running shoes don’t provide adequate lateral support. Above all else, wear a sneaker that feels good for you. Everyone is different and no one shoe will work for everybody. As long as you are supporting your foot and wearing exercise appropriate footwear (no sandals, barefeet, boots, dress shoes, etc.) whatever works for you is fine with us!
