What are the best security add-ons for Firefox browser?
It’s noscript by a huge mile, it’s the sole reason I use Firefox. By default when you visit a website, Javascript is enabled, it’s like giving the keys to your car to a complete stranger. This is how most Trojans etc can get into your PC. With noscript Javascipt/ Active X/ Java is disabled by default when you visit an unknown website, but simply clicking on the icon will enable it for the website. With Java/ ActiveX/ Javascript disabled, there isn’t that much a malicious website can do to you. If you are going to click on a link, you can have no idea how safe that website is until you visit it. You can then decide if you want Javascript to run. My brother in law for example searched for something on Google, clicked on the search result from google and bam, a nasty trojan was installed that wrecked the PC. I had to wipe and reinstall the PC, it wouldn’t have happened with noscript. I used to have the same functionallity on Internet Explorer for years and have never had a virus since. Ho
