What are the best rollerblades / inline skates for beginners?
Whomever said Salomon is really uninformed. They got out of the business several years ago but I have heard that they are considering getting back into it. Salomons fit my feet better than the other brands and I bought a last pair when they were closing them out. Any particular type of skating that you want to do? Recreational – skating to get places or touring (a few miles at a time) Fitness – same as rec but faster and longer distances Aggressive – jumping, ramps, grinding Hockey – self explanatory Free Style – dance moves or around cones Figure – self explanatory Rec/fitness are the most common. The most common quality brands are Rollerblade and K2. There are specialty brands for the other styles. For rec/fitness, look for wheels 80mm or larger. 90mm may be difficult for some beginners. 100 and larger need much higher skills. Aluminum frames are much better than plastic.
