What are the best restaurants (high quality of foods, services) in Kunming city, China?
Question: Answer: Kunming isn’t that big on the top end restaurants. I’ve never had any reason to be overly displeased with the quality of the budget restaurants and the service was always excellent. You could try one of the fancy posh places but you’d be paying a whole lot more just for the atmosphere and a menu in English. Hardly what I call best. Brothers Jiang is the famous spot to go to for over the bridge noodles. No English there though. I generally found Yunnanese food to be a bit bland. there were a few Hui and Uighur restaurants in a lane just south of the mosque on the main EW road where you can get something with a good amount of flavour. Generally no English either. I’d probably class most of the small tourist oriented cafes as the best (you’ll find them everywhere). They have a nice cafe atmosphere. The food is cheap and tasty (though at some places the hygiene is questionable) the staff are really friendly and by eating there your money is going to the small businessman
