What are the best quality brushes a make-up artist can buy?
My personal favourite is Mac. But that’s not to say there aren’t other good brands! As long as you pay for what you get, you’re doing well. I’m a MUA so my brushes were expensive, but yours don’t have to be. The Body Shop have amazing brushes, I’m totally impressed with their shader brushes and also I loved a thick lip brush that they did a while ago that has since been discontinued. As for synthetic/natural, natural is good for general everyday makeup use, and synthetic is best for products that are heavy and thick like oils and Mehron or Kryolan- Theatrical and face paints. Have a loot at www.crownbrushes.co.uk for good quality, reasonable price and a large collection. An art store will be good for synthetics. Also, be sure to look after them! Brushes should last forever, no matter how much you use them. Keep them clean and sanitary. Keep a cleanser in your makeup collection- My fave is MAC Brush Cleaner. Keep the brush horizontal, put a little cleaner on and wipe away with cottonwoo
