What are the best places on the coast to go wade fishing?
I am not sure I can give you the best wade fishing areas but I can give you insight as to where to go. For you, the best place would be the Rockport-Aransas Pass-Port Aransas-Corpus Christi areas of the Coastal Bend. It is the closest to you and this area has many areas to wade fish without a boat. Access is very good everywhere. You need to obtain a navigation map and road map to see what the area looks like. You can determine where the roads access the shore and then you can decide where to fish. You really need to come down and scout the area so you can see what the conditions are like. If you see wade fishermen, you can bet that is a good area. Check with the local Chambers of Commerce. They probably have information on wade fishing. One consideration is to rent or buy a kayak. This is fast becoming the fishing boat of choice for many people. You can access many areas not available to waders due to deep mud or soft bottom.
