What are the best Passive EMG pickups for a Dean Evo 2000 guitar?
I am a respected licensed guitar luthier in my area. In my opinion, EMG pups do not sound that good compared to the Seymour Duncan Blackouts. However, those are a bit out of your price range. Now, for the money, you cannot go wrong with GFS pickups. They are sold here: http://www.guitarfetish.com/. Get the crunchy and power rails pups and you’ll be set. I was skeptical at first when someone asked me to put them in their guitar. But, after handling and using them, I am convinced that they are every bit as good, if not better than, the big name brand pickups. Plus, you can get two of them for 70 dollars. I know I may sound like an advertisement to you, but I am passionate about my work and when I see something that is quality, I like to let people know about it.
