What are the best options for vegetarian food in Barcelona, Spain ?

I can’t make any personal recommendations for Barcelona, but I do have some general thoughts on eating vegetarian in Spain and in Europe generally. European countries vary a lot in how veggie-friendly they are, partly depending on how meat-based the local cuisine is. Spain is one place where while there is a cetain amount vegetarian tapas, and some egg based dishes (if you eat eggs) the choice is not that great. In countries like Spain where the native cuisine is not very veggie friendly, the way to get a good meal is to seek out international and ethnic places. International pizza chains for example always have veggie options wherever you go, as do the restaurants in international class hotels.
