What are the best headphones to completely block out sound for my project?
The only phones I can suggest are those that are sound canceling. However, better performing sound-canceling headphones will cost you. But, even the very best sound-canceling headphone will not completely eliminate noises. You may have better luck along with spending less money by using earplugs augmented with ear protectors. But, wearing these things for one week will not be comfortable and could risk injury. These things are meant to protect your hearing for limited duration. And, even then, you may still hear things via bone conduction; you can only be truly deaf if the cilia in your inner ear are damaged, and that injury can be permanent so I would not advise you to deliberately become deaf that way. Before you do anything, you will have to consult with an audiologist before you really risk your hearing.
