What are the best food crops that can be gardened in upstate new york?
I live in upstate New York and before I moved out, my dad grew a pretty nice selection of fruits and vegetables. He grew tomatoes, pumpkins, sunflowers (for the seeds), carrots a couple of times, watermelons, a couple of different kinds of herbs, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and a couple others I can’t seem to remember. But you should have no trouble at all growing any of the things I mentioned. One year, he grew a 60 pound pumpkin. It was HUGE! As for what he used in the soil, he always used the general purpose Miracle Grow plant food. I’m not sure if that was the only thing he used, but I know it was the one thing he used every time he planted.
