What are the best fishing spots in Washington state?
Salmon fishing in washington state is a lot of fun, full of tradition and can be had for cheap… Lake Washington will most likely not have a cutthroat season this year due to the numbers of fish and the political scenario currently floating around… However, that doesn’t mean you can’t charter a boat from Ocean Shores or Westport to have a good full day of fishing. Fly fishing Washington is also an excellent way to spend your day. Start out near flaming geyser state park and get some experience fishing for the little guys (catch and release). Once you’re up to it, head to eastern washington and enjoy places near salmon la sac, the icicle river and the snoqualmie. All of these rivers are enjoyable, although few offer the true size and challenge of Montana’s henry’s fork or the famous and uber-challenging Silver Creek (that’s in Idaho, it’s a nature conservency preserve not too far away from Sun Valley / Ketchum).
