What are the best dog nail clippers to use?
Whether you decide to grind them or not, they will need to be taken back in length first. I prefer the scissor type. If they have white nails, cut up until where the pink starts, if they are black, cut off the excess and then go as far back as you can where it is brittle and just starting to get softer without cutting the quick, this takes practice. Also be patient with your dog since he’s not used to it. I clip my dog’s nails about once a week, but I like to keep them really short, and I hardly cut anything off each time I cut them. I’m a little excessive, but at once or twice a month he is better off than he is now.
