What are the best British television shows?
• Top Gear TG is a British television show about cars and “Petrol Heads” (The British equivalent of a “Gear Head”). It’s been running in its current iteration for 15 seasons (The original series lasted from 1977-2001) and is just great fun, even if you don’t know anything about cars. It’s educational and the hosts are all wonderful characters. • Torchwood I maintain that, as of now, Torchwood is the best piece of television I have ever watched. It has great writing, great characters, and it balances wit with controversial material. This show is not afraid of its audience, and that makes it all the more engaging. It’s very human; very emotional. It will grab on to you and not let go. As to its content, Torchwood is a much less campy spin-off of Doctor Who. Even if you aren’t a fan of science fiction, you should at least give this a shot.
