What are the best bars and clubs in Amsterdam, NL?
There are many things to do in Amsterdam and the interests are as varied as mankind. Do you want a disco, a place for a joint?, a strip club, a comedy bar, a place to rave? Amsterdam has serveral “entertainment districts” where you can find your own ‘best’ club or bar. The Damrak extends from the Central Station (Cenrtaal Station) to Dam Square (Dam) and is 100% euro-tourist. This is the place that defines tourist in all its glory, all over the world. You know what’s there. However the sex musuem is not bad in this area for something a little different from most tourist areas. Just off of Dam Square and the Damrak by one block, The Red Light District (don’t worry about the dutch name, no one uses it) is good for (cheap) sex and smoke, home to the Greenhouse possibly the best smoke in Amsterdam. But the bars are not so hot unless you want non-stop sex shows. The Rembrandt’s Square (Rembrandtsplein) area is more English pub type atmosphere with a few coffee shops and a dying cabaret club
