What are the best arts/acting colleges in the world?
Every so often there is a Ranking of the top MFA acting programs in the country. I think the latest one which is quoted a lot is from the early 2000’s but recently everyone is coming out with some kind of list. Julliard is an amazing school, and if you get in you should go … but its not number 1. Lots of other schools aren’t even ranked but their programs are still amazing… it’s really a matter of what you want out of the education you’re going to go get. The Top Ten according to “Actingbiz” are: NYU Yale Rutgers USD/Old Globe UCSD ACT- San Francisco Harvard UC Irvine The Actors Studio NTC in Denver. (It mentions DePaul and Boston too as honorable mentions) The thing is … this list from 2008 … is nothing like the lists from 2001, or even 2006 … these programs are constantly changing and gaining more (or less clout) as years go by.
