What are the best activities for preschoolers?
Activities that use their senses, all the themes of learning (auditory, visual & tactile) motor skills and logic skills, hand-eye coordination and imagination are the best for pre-schools. You’d be surprised at how much a pre-schooler can learn by simply playing catch with a ball and how many skills they use. When I taught pre-school I did some of the following games. The kids LOVED them and they educational: -Simon Says: I’d start by playing Simon Says with the kids with you being Simon. As you say the body part to touch/activity to do, do it yourself. Ex- if you say “Simon says touch your nose” you also touch your nose. As the children start to get good of the game, make a little harder. As you say the body part/activity to do, touch/do something else. Ex- “Simon says touch your nose” but you as Simon touch your feet. This game focuses on listening and processing skills. -Arts & Crafts: Get a whole bunch of foam pieces, beads, all kinds of pasta noodles, construction paper, crayons,
