What are the benifits of using WPA2-Enterprise with PEAP?
As EAP-TLS requires the use of certificates you need an existing PKI infrastructure to support this type of authentication. If you donĀ“t have a PKI in place you need some other form of authentication, e.g. password based. This can be done with PEAPv0/EAP-MSCHAPv2. There is also PEAPv1, but there is no serious support for this in most operating systems. The term “WPA2-Enterprise” only refers to the way the authentication itself is done: With “Enterprise” a RADIUS infrastructure is used, the authentication is not performed directly on the (e.g.) WLAN AP.
