Base salary: $18,123 per year. House and Senate speakers: $54,202. Per-diem allowance: $153 per day, adjusted annually each October using a federal formula. Home Office Expense allowance: $1,000 per month. No restrictions on use and no expense reports filed. IRS considers it taxable income. Postage and printing allowance: $2,016 per year for representatives $6,832 per year for senators. This money may be used for mailings to constituents, souvenir state flags, lapel pins, photographs, printing, maps and framing documents for presentation. Mileage: 42 cents per mile.
