What are the benefits of using NETFILE?
• Faster refunds NETFILE allows the CRA to process your return much quicker, which means a faster refund. In most cases, with direct deposit, you can receive your refund in as little as eight business days, compared with four to six weeks for a paper return. Some exceptions apply. Please see our Web site at www.cra-arc.gc.ca/reviews/ for more information. • Confirmation within seconds You will receive electronic confirmation of receipt within seconds of sending your tax return (“.tax” file) via NETFILE. • Secure We use a high-level 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption, which is the most secure form of encryption commonly available in North America today. We also have a number of other measures in place to ensure data security and confidentiality. This includes the use of firewalls and individualized access codes. • Improved accuracy Before we accept a return for processing, we perform a series of computer checks and balances.
