What are the Benefits of Transaxillary Breast Augmentation?
The chief benefit with transaxillary breast augmentation is the lack of scarring. With standard breast enhancement surgeries, incisions are made to the breasts, either along the crease underneath the breast, as a vertical incision from the base of the breast up to the nipple area (known as inframammary incision), around the areola, or a combination of the above. Transaxillary breast augmentation does away with these incisions, simply making a small incision in the armpit, where any scarring will be less noticeable, even if the tissue doesn’t mend as well as it should. There is also evidence to suggest that transaxillary breast augmentation is less likely to create problems with breast feeding than with surgery procedures where the incisions are made to the breast and areola areas.
