What are the benefits of this priviledge for Mexico, Central America and Brazil?
There are important Mexican and Central American pressure groups in the United States from the immigrants, who have an ever greater voice in the political life. We should bear in mind that two Hispanic governors -not from small states- were elected in the early November elections. So there is a clear rise in the number of Hispanic voters and this is being considered by politicians. Should Mexico strengthen the NAFTA, make a stronger emphasis on the FTAA or advance in both fronts? Mexico will go through what Spain is experiencing now as it has come to realize it is amid a very positive situation for it belongs to a club of grown-ups and begins to detach from its youth friends, including us in Latin America.
