There is one major benefit to site licensing – upgrades are a lot cheaper. The upgrade price for volume license customers is 50% the current cost of a brand new volume license. Site license customers get the added benefit of future protection and applying 35% to the price of the new volume license. An example is warranted. Say that today an accounting firm buys a site license for its 200 employees. The cost is $4,718 (US) for the site license. An equivalent volume license is $3,380 (US). Over the next year the organization grows and adds 50 more employees. Assume some new feature gets added to the XLAuditor add-in that everyone just has to have. So, a new purchase order is made for the upgrade. If they were a volume license customer, the upgrade would be $2,065 (US). Since they are a site license customer, the company is sheltered from the extra employee count and the site license upgrade is $1,183 (US).
