What are the benefits of Project Saving Water, Saving Money?
• It promotes wise use of our limited water resources. • It will help repair small leaks in the County system to prevent them from becoming larger ones. • It increases the cost effectiveness of DWR’s operations by helping ensure the cost to ratepayers of producing drinking water is recovered. • It achieves compliance with the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District goals for reducing unaccounted for water losses. The MNGWPD was created by the Georgia General Assembly and is comprised of 16 counties in the metro area. Gwinnett will be one of the first counties in the District to undertake a comprehensive leak study. • It will better prepare Gwinnett for the future. Data collected in the survey will allow for updates to water distribution system maps and it will be used to forecast future leaks based on patterns identified during the survey.
