What are the benefits of private training over classroom training?
Classroom training, or training with a group of dogs outside the home in a nuetral setting, is wonderful for well socialized puppies or dogs to learn general commands and manners. Even some not so well socialized dogs can learn commands and maybe even how to socialize, in a classroom. But not every dog and owner can learn and/or focus enough to benefit from that setting. The dog may not be socialized enough, or just unable to focus with all the new dogs and people, or may have issues that should be addressed in the home; or maybe the dog or owner (or both) just need a lot of individual attention from the trainer. Classes really are great for a lot of things but it’s near impossible for the trainer to give each dog a lot of individual attention (in my opinion).
