What are the benefits of longitudinal and cross-sectional studies?
longitudinal: you get your results more accurately because you do follow ups on the same person you originally interviewed and get to determine exactly the effects something has on each individual involved (ex seeing how well a certain medication works on a person based on their improvement) cross-sectional: less people drop out during the study because it is all done and over with after 1 time frame, and you get your results all at once time rather then having to wait for a person to age, or a certain amount of time to elapse before getting the results.
