[1] Purpose per the constitution One of the purposes stated in our constitution is to support the economic, educational, cultural, political and social growth of Enugu State of Nigeria. These in turn will lead to a more stable and inhabitable Enugu State for all of us to enjoy. As a national organization, we are in a better position to influence decisions that will impact social and economic issues in Enugu State. For example, during the recently concluded 2001 convention in Houston Texas, SECURITY IN ENUGU STATE was a major topic discussed. Information reaching us is that the State government has taken steps to improve this situation based on the recommendations of the Security Panel. Other areas discussed extensively at the convention include: • Education • Healthcare • Economic Development • Science and Technology • Welfare of Enugu People.
