What are the benefits of Improv and Theater Games?
Classes that focus on Improv and Theater Games allow the player to focus on being creative. Passion and energy become heightened. Many players feel rejuvenated for the week after attending a class in Improv. Players develop confidence, learn to think and act quickly, refine their public speaking skills, learn the true power of teamwork and most importantly…have fun! What does a typical Riverdale Improv! class do? While no two classes are the same, (after all, it’s improv) the general structure is as follows: a) Warm-up games help players transition form their hectic schedules into the relaxed and Improv environment. b) Focused exercises introduce players to basic theater, improv and comedy techniques. c) Structured games allow players to use their tools to create traditional short form Improv. d) Group-prep plays allow the group to explore many different characters and genres. d) Open Improv allows players to not only define the content but the structure in which they will “play.” Te
