Security is a concern but the primary argument of most politicians against Immigration amnesty revolves around the economic hardship illegal immigration costs American citizens. Not only is this notion challenged by economists, they suggest immigration amnesty has additional benefits for the country and the economy as a whole. Poverty The money made doing manual labor and unskilled work in the United States provides food and basic needs to an entire family abroad. Americans would not do most of the work done by illegal immigrants. This type of labor is in agriculture, meatpacking, construction, and other low-paying, physically demanding work.
